Great story, sad ending. Slow at the beginning but it held the kids' interest. Story looks "real," not like Hollywood-perfect. "It is good to be nice to a new kid." "It showed that girls can do a lot." "Some characters were disrespectful."
Thoughtful and intriguing. Well produced. True to the original book. Deals realistically with problems. A great story about differing values and finding common ground. Addresses friendship, moving away and death. Somewhat dated presentation.
Jesse Aarons, a shy fifth grader, learns about love when he strikes up a friendship with the new girl in town. Together they create a fantasy world they call "Terabitha" in a pine forest near their farms.
