Character and stories teach good value lessons about respect while building vocabulary. Social interactions are well done, if long-winded. Helping others, keeping friends and dealing with conflict are all addressed. Shows little diversity.

Boats take on character and names in these stories that tell how Northumberland, the Sleepy Submarine, makes himself surprisingly scarce when another boat visits the big harbor. Bedford Buoy puzzles everyone when he wants to leave the harbor.
