Kids jumped at the chance to watch Goosebumps. It held their attention, especially the eight-year-olds. They liked the plant food that the dad created and seeing the kids help each other. Goosebumps fans felt this was a great episode in that it is quite creepy and spine-tingling. The dad is definitely strange but his behavior adds to the suspense.
Sharing a scary experience with another helps children address their fears. In this program, siblings related well to each other by resolving conflicts together. It's full of scary scenes, and the father's behavior is strange.
Who can you trust? When Margaret's dad gets fired from his job as a botanist, he begins acting weird and spending all his time in the basement. No one seems to notice his odd behavior or hear the strange noises coming from below -- except Margaret. She's really scared. Has her father turned into a mad scientist? Her brother, Casey, thinks she's nuts -- that is until he finds out that dad has been eating plant food! What is going on? Together Margaret and Casey venture down into the dark, creepy basement to unearth their father's spooky secret. Voice talent by Masato Chikusa, Kerry Duff, Gary Pearson, Shadia Simmons, Sheldon Smith. Directed by Timothy Bond and Randy Bradshaw.
