This classic film, based on the novel by Enid Bagnold, addresses a topic many young children fantasize about - riding horses. Horse-lovers will be thrilled with this Oscar-winning film. Most importantly, it shows healthy, loving family interactions and excellent female role models. Though she wins the race, Velvet is deprived of the title and prize because girls are not eligible to race. The horse and race scenes are stunning as is the cinematography of coastal England.

With excellent performances and exhilarating footage of horse racing, this cherished story of a small girl who realizes her big dream - first prize in England's National Steeplechase - remains enchanting. Stars Elizabeth Taylor, Mickey Rooney.
