What a touching film and one that rings true to kids and moms in this predicament.

The storyline follows a young inner city boy, who is a latchkey kid that is dealing with school bullies and a local gang leader. He comes up with a bright idea to make money to help his mom pay the past due electricity bill.

Beautifully shot, great audio, excellent editing, great storyline and good acting - especially on the part of the young boy. Kudos to Jennifer Marie for writing a compelling script and for directing this film. The storyline truly tugged at my heartstrings because I have worked in inner city schools and have worked with kids and moms just like this boy and mom in the film. There is so much love between them and their connection is so precious. The ending of the film is my favorite part -- it brought smiles to me and my son who watched this with me.

The film's message is about being true to yourself and to those you love - even in the most difficult circumstances.

I give Kool-Aid Stand 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!

An inner city, latchkey kid must stand-up to the school bully and a local gang leader in order to help his mom pay the overdue electricity bill.
