This is a true heartbreaker, sensitively depicting two Ukrainian children trying to escape from the Russians during the occupation. It has a lovely and positive ending.

The storyline follows two children in Ukraine escaping from the Russians in an abandoned old house and befriending each other.

Beautifully shot and beautifully acted, this film draws our attention to the dire situation in Ukraine as it follows two children whose parents have died or disappeared. It tugs at your heartstrings and brings the reality of the war there home, in a very real way.

The film's message is about always having hope, as these two young children do. And to remember that sometimes we discover friends in the most unusual way.

I give this film 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
