Great take by a college student on what it feels like to try to fit in when you move to a new country and a new culture.

The film follows a young Vietnamese-born girl who moves to Australia and faces the difficulties of trying to fit into her new environment and becoming a "normal girl."

I really enjoyed watching this. It's a fun production with lots of interesting camera angles, colorized shots, techno music and imagination inserted in every way. I love seeing the creativity of Khanh Nguyen and found the behavior of the Australian girls to be on the bullying side. Thankfully, that didn't prevent Khanh from being herself.

The film's message is about being yourself and not being afraid if you don't completely fit in.

I give Normal Girl 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
