The storyline follows a couple of students that plan to pull of the greatest school heist ever.
The production quality is quite good. My hat's off to these middle school student filmmakers. The video is very well shot and uses a variety of camera angles. The audio is excellent; even the outside shots are very clear. And, the background music is well selected, especially for the ending. There are a variety of locations, from the school, to what appears to be individual kids' homes. The key cast, Dax, Phoebe and Yoel are all great. The script is very imaginative and falls within the realm of feasibility. This was written by a team of 18 writers. The funny thing is that this entire film is about planning their heist, and convincing an adult to help them make it happen. My favorite part is how they have a crew of kids lined up to make it happen - from the kids who can play the theme song for Better Call Saul, to one who's jumped off a cliff, to one who's a Flex Tape specialist. The Flex Tape scene is really funny and that reference turns the tide for making the heist happen.
This film is all about the importance of planning if you want to make something happen, even making the impossible possible.
I give Library Heist 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 12, plus adults. It's a perfect middle student made film for the KIDS FIRST! Film Festivals. If this doesn't make you laugh, I don't know what would. By David E. and Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
