I really enjoyed this short film, Training Pedro, which addresses persistence and hard work. Pedro is a boy who has everything to become of the best soccer players in the world, except talent. What a lovely and compelling story. My heart went out to Pedro watching him try his best to do something for which he has no aptitude. He is persistent, if nothing else. We see him practicing day in and day out, night and day, without much improvement. The camerawork is excellent, with lots of interesting angles and a variety of shots from close-ups of the net to long shots showing the neighborhood where Pedro plays. In the end, Pedro surprises us. The film's message is to keep on trying and never give up. I give Training Pedro 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 12, plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
