Beautiful tribute to step dads who try so hard to be there for their stepchildren, especially when the biological father fails to show up.
This is wonderfully shot, beautiful acted. Kudos to Ben Willis-Teff for creating a wonderful film.
I give this 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 18, plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!

This film explores modern family dynamics through the eyes of a young boy, taking place on America's Independence Day. The story follows Sam, a young boy who loves to draw, as he reluctantly spends the day stuck at home alone with his stepfather. When Sam's father Allan drops him off in the morning, Allan promises to return and take Sam to watch fireworks together that night. As Sam waits for Allan and nightfall grows near, tension builds between Sam and Frank.
