The story is about Pansie the piglet who is unable to sleep. So, Fiore the Fairy comes to help her by singing her a lullaby to help her to relax.
This is a perfect short animated film that helps young children wind down for naptime or bedtime! I love listening to music at night; it always helps me go to sleep. The music stands out in this film and is very soothing. So is the voice of Fiore the Fairy (Diane Bauman). The animation really enhances the lyrics of the lullaby; it's easy to watch and follow along. Pansie the piglet seems a bit over-dressed for a pig getting ready for bed, but her outfit is certainly adorable. The sets are perfect for a child imagining where Pansie might be. The entire film is sort of a visual lullaby. The two characters are Pansie the Piglet and Fiore the Fairy; both are voiced by Diane Baumann who is also the director, writer and producer. The film is only three minutes long, so there isn't much time for character development. The only character development really is watching little Pansie the piglet fall asleep and see her dream softly flowing over her head.
The film offers a great inducement to help children learn to relax and gently fall asleep.
I give Before It's Time to Say Goodnight - A Bedtime Lullaby 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 2 to 8, plus adults. By Tiana S., and Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
