This short student film shows many people coming together to show what kindness means to them. A boy tells a small story about how his test grade made him feel, and how kindness reversed that.
I love the message that this story sends. What a great way to teach kids what kindness truly means and how it impacts others. The camerawork is well done, as is the audio. There's nothing extraordinary about it, but it's very suitable to the film. The location appears to be at a school - in the hallway, outside in a grassy area, against a wall. The background music is subtle with guitar strumming that sets a calm tone for the film. It made me feel comforted and calm. There are phrases interjected throughout the film with words of encouraging kindness that support the message of this film. There are various young people that speak out about what they believe kindness means. The film flows well and, as a film of just over three minutes, keeps moving at a steady pace. My favorite part is when the scene with a bunch of post-its that form a heart and describe the various emotions a person can feel to mend their hurt feelings after feeling "dumb."
The message of the film is that kindness has a big impact on others and is never wasted.
I give Kindness Sticks 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 5 to 18, plus adults. By Apurva S., KIDS FIRST!
