I like Waking the Muse because it is about fashion and talks about how people are inspired by their teachers. It also shows people creating outfits for themselves and is inspiring in that way. It is inspiring and makes you happy.

The documentary shows teachers Inspiring teenagers and young kids how to follow their dreams and design their own fashions.

The part I like best is when people talk about how they got inspired by fashion and making dresses. The camera work is great, especially when we see the designers showing off their piece. They added glitter to the footage when it was edited, which makes it look really beautiful. One of the designers had a black and gold outfit which really impressed me. A lot of other designs were quite incredible and really inspired me. The location and music are very suitable to the film. The background is amazing. My favorite part is when they talk about how their teachers inspired them to start designing clothes and how they love it now and appreciate their teachers help.

The message in this film is: whatever you're inspired by you should put work into it.

I give Waking the Muse 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 18, plus adults. By Rosabella P., KIDS FIRST!

Meet Techinee Nawaing (19), Cian Newman (20), and Niamh Porter (24), three young creatives who joined the Junk Kouture community while in secondary school in Ireland and who have gone on to pursue their passion for art, fashion and design after their participation in the competition. The documentary follows the three designers as they are challenged to work together to design, source and create a unique design to be modelled in New York for Climate Week NYC. The three designers are guided by Junk Kouture judge and successful fashion designer Stephen McLaughlin as they demonstrate what it takes to produce a Junk Kouture masterpiece.
