New Beginnings is a film that takes on several difficult emotional issues with great care.

The story follows an orphaned girl who lives with her uncle and their fairly strained relationship. After losing her parents, he became her caregiver. When an unfortunate incident happens, the uncle shows his love for her in a selfless way.

The camera work is well done, so is the audio. The acting is commendable by both the young girl and her uncle. The storyline is well developed; even though it is quite predictable, it is comforting. It shows how the uncle wants to improve their relationship, but doesn't know where to begin. When faced with a tragedy, he responds in a way that shows his niece how much he cares for her.

I give New Beginnings 3.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 10 to 18 plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
