This cleverly executed 2D animation tells a complex story in a short period of time. Kudos to Jack Tenbusch for creating an enjoyable short film.
The storyline follows a yellow bird that is forced to flee its habitat when big equipment comes in, cutting down the trees. Accidentally, it trips an antenna at a robot facility, activates an outdated robot and they both end up in the trash bin, seeking escape.
The quality of the 2D animation is quite good. I especially like the yellow bird, but the outdated robot is also appealing. I admire how the filmmaker was able to tell such a complex story in six minutes. And, the ending is uplifting, which I also like.
I give this 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 10 to 18, plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!

A Songbird who is forced to flee her deforested home accidentally clips her wing on a robotic facility antenna, plummeting into an underground scrap bin. Her collision caused an error within the facility: an obsolete robot is activated. Seeing the mistake, the facility's Master AI dumps the obsolete robot into the scrap bin, where he and the injured Songbird meet. After the robot interprets her solemn song as a wish to fly free again, the two form an unlikely symbiotic relationship. Their directive: ESCAPE!
