The story follows a girl collecting rays of sunlight to keep in her box of memories. One day, a sad memory escapes the box and she must confront this memory so she can heal.
Even though this film is aimed at younger children, it portrays a very deep and adult message. Thus, it teaches children about an important topic. Most of the animation is unremarkable, but I really like the scene where the girl is facing her traumatic memory. The backgrounds are not that unique, though the colors are nice. I like how calm the music is, and how it becomes more ominous when the sad memory is introduced. I did find that the audio level of the background music sometimes made hearing the voiceover difficult as it overshadowed it a bit. The slow pace of this film fits with the childlike aesthetic that the visuals represent. The characters do not have clear personalities and I find it difficult to address the voice-acting because it is in Spanish and I am not fluid in that language. However, the subtitles are very clear and easy to read. The art style as well as the color palette. It's very cute and appealing.
The message is that you can heal from a traumatic experience by acknowledging the pain and confronting it.
I give this one 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 2 to 8. Reviewed by Calista B., KIDS FIRST!
