The story follows Moonlight the Monster, who likes fashion design and decides to try her hand at the fashion show, which comes with a big surprise.
I like how the idea of creativity is explored, which is exemplified when Moonlight the Monster, decides to create an outfit that can win the fashion show. I also like how the entire process of the fashion show is well outlined, starting from an idea to building it and winning the show. The setting of the fashion show stage and spectators are terrific.
The entire thing takes place in a fictional city. The main character, Moonlight the Monster, is voiced by April, who fits a character willing to try anything to win a contest. It also fits the idea of a child's imagination as Moonlight decides to use some fabric to make her own clothing for the fashion show. April Yu is the producer, composer, animator, voice-over actor; her taking an idea to a respectable animation at the age of 8 is incredible. I also like that she has subtitled the film by inserting the dialog in visual boxes into the graphic of the film.
The message of the film is that you can do anything.
I give the film 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 5 to 12, plus adults. Reviewed by Tom W., KIDS FIRST!
