I like the way the story is told. Even though it's short, it's simple and engaging. The cinematography quite well done. The locations are very beautiful and stylized. The music and sound effects are very distinct and noticeable. It has a really unique style that stands out a lot.
The message of the story is that someone will always be there to guide you. You should be aware that it does contain some implied violence when Ma'ii eats a rabbit off screen. You don't see it, but you hear the sounds.
I give Ma'ii 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to ages 10 to 18. Reviewed by Calista B., KIDS FIRST! Film Critic
