This is a beautifully told story although one reviewer had difficulties with the textured skin of the animated along with them dissolving and reassembling through the wire fence. But, the message of the story, about a boy with CP wanting to be included on the playground with the other kids is a strong one and the ending is heartfelt and encouraging. Non-narrative, the story is told through images and imagination. I recommend it for ages 8 to 18, plus adults and give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Bill N. and Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Jurors.
Ian was born with cerebral palsy. Like all kids, he wants to have friends, but discrimination and bullying keep him from his beloved playground. Ian won't give up easily, accomplishing something that will surprise everyone.
