Once upon a time a lone black sheep wanders into a field of white sheep only to be rejected by them. She is cheerful and buoyant, but they flee from her for no apparent reason at all. Then, she is befriended by Diddl and his friend who take him under their wing and into the their home. The sheep rides down a long, twisting slide from the upper story of the house to the ground and lands smack dab into a pile of paint cans. All the characters end up colored a multitude of colors which somehow makes the black sheep appealing to the rest of the fold. This non-narrative film has a take on the black sheep story has a unique twist, that drives home a sweet story about acceptance. Oh that the world would be so simple! And yet, it can be, at least in the movies. Charming and colorful. We recommend this for ages 2 to 5 and give it 4 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Juror.
