This short narrative film tackles a subject that is sorely in need to addressing within the LGBTQ community. That is of explaining a non-heterosexual lifestyle to your child. For those who grew up in the "Dick & Jane" world, explaining that there are different ways to have adult relationships outside of the traditional "mom and dad" role models, this film offers a short introduction to the topic.
The one issue I have with the film is that the audio level is too low and I had a difficult time hearing the dialogue, especially when they are whispering. I hope the filmmaker can provide a copy with better audio so that it plays better in exposition.
Other than that, it is very well produced with excellent video quality that will project well onto the big screen. The actors all perform quite well. The little boy is particularly charming, but also the two men perform equally well in their roles.
I recommend this for KIDS FIRST! Film Festival, especially those with a LGBTQ focus. I give this 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Juror.
