This is a brilliantly created piece of animation, but I did find the story's ending unsatisfactory. Call me a Pollyanna, but I prefer an uplifting ending. The animation is so wonderfully done. My only suggestion is that the facial expressions could be enhanced. As they are, most of the time, they are pretty bland. The background music is exquisite. So, I will recommend it for the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival, but only for older teens, who won't be dismayed by the ending. I give it 3.4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 13 to 18, as well as adults. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Juror
