The title reveals the theme of this short student film, about a girl's dream of becoming an astronaut. We experience her as she feels herself drowning in school work. The story is told very dramatically and easily draws the viewer in. The actor that plays the protagonist is appealing and realistic, especially as a young child and then again as a teen. Anyone that has ever been a student (who among us has not) can easily relate to this story. Watching the girl experience her dream, almost lose it and finding it again makes it very relatable. This is well produced. The vocabulary and concepts of this film will easily resonate with a youth audience. The production quality is quite good with clear sound and well executed visuals. The cinematography is well suited to the story. The locations, from her bedroom, to the sky, to school, all work and help deliver her story. I really enjoyed this. It is an excellent piece of filmmaking by a youth filmmaker. Very impressive.
The target audience will understand the concept of having a dream and going after it, in spite of all the obstacles one encounters along the way. I give it 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 10 to 15. Reviewed by Kimberly M., KIDS FIRST! Adult Juror
