It's not often that I see an animated film in youth film festivals, so this is a nice change. The story is cute and quite creative. It genuinely has potential for a series. The animation is charming, although I did have issues with it. In the beginning it is hard to tell what is in the background or the foreground. However, that happens only in the beginning. The animation is quite impressive. Hallie Farmer has a great future ahead of her and I hope to see more of your work soon! I highly recommend Marbles for ages 6 to 12. I am a fan of both animation and magic so this film hits two points with me from the get go. The high school filmmaker has created a charming, non-narrative short film in 2D animation that leaves much to the imagination about what really is going on with her and her cat. The marbles seem to have a magical impact that takes them to various places which they both enjoy. This would make a delightful addition to any film festival with a youth and family audience. Its artistry and imagination jump off the screen, making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Highly recommended for ages 8 to 12. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Adult Juror
