This beautifully stop motion animated short film is fun, has cute characters and is very suitable for young children. The music fits well with the simple, slice of life feeling. The subtitles are easy to read. This is the story of two friends living on an island, surrounded by food. The friends bond over food, until one believes he was tricked into eating sour berries by the other friend. During this time one friend says, "Two-faced liar and loser." (This is the only concern that I have about the film.) The friends eventually make up with the help of some yummy food. The film's director, Tsuneo Goda, has made many notable works such as Komaneko, The Curious Kitty &Friends and By Your Side. I love his artistic style! I believe a child would love the fun characters and storyline. The story flows well and is very understandable. My favorite scene is when the two friends are picking berries together. The outdoor set is gorgeous. It's very simple and cute. You should know that the dialogue is in Japanese with English sub titles. I recommend this for ages 5 to 12 (due to the sub-titles) and give it 5 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Rachael V. and Julie S., KIDS FIRST! juror.
