A New Home is a thoughtful personal portrait that illuminates the experience of immigrating to the U.S. at a young age. The film concisely captures the essence of its theme. In just one minute we meet the subject, learn about his background, the challenges that he had to overcome, especially bullying and the wisdom that he gained from the experience. The filmmaker uses music, an interview and video of the teen in his new city. Recommended viewing for schools, especially those where U.S.-born youths may not understand the impact of their actions on a new student. I give this 3.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18. Reviewed by Katarzyna K., KIDS FIRST! Juror
