Connected: The Future is a documentary film about four ten year old girls who compare how technology in their lives in present time versus when they were eight years old. Something that I found interesting, and many viewers will too, was the fact that eight year olds now text and Face Time on their cell phones. When I was eight, I had an iPod that I couldn't text on. I was one of the more fortunate people, as a lot of my friends didn't even have iPods. It is crazy to see how the times have changed. Another thing that many people will find interesting is the fact that the young girls noticed how often their mothers went onto technology and how obsessed they are. My only complaint with the film was that the way the girls use technology didn't change drastically in two years, yet it was still intriguing to see how technology affected these four totally different girls. For these reasons, I think it would make a good addition to the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival. Recommended for ages 5-12. 3.5 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Ella L. KIDS FIRST! Film Critic.

Two years ago, Alexa Payesko created 'Connected', a documentary about four adorable seven and eight year-old girls who discuss what technology means in their lives. The charming, funny, future rock stars, artists, and teachers explain how iPhones, iPads, and LeapPads inform and dominate their lives. Now, two years later, and two years older, Alexa went back to find how their views on technology have changed. 'Connected: The Future' looks at each girl to see if they are really connected with their technology. They all love their selfies, but as one girl noted in 'Connected', "too much technology isn't good for the brain." Is that how they still feel?
