Recommended. This has a charming storyline, good performances, locations and background music. There is a bit of stereotyping with the gay guys and the looney, soon-to-be mother-in-law, but not in a negative way. The sub plot about the dot getting lost is a bit distracting but adds to the overall nuttiness of the story, especially with all the costumed kids looking for it. Overall, the multi-cultural aspect of this makes it appealing for a family audience. Whether you come from a similar background or not, we live in a time when so many people live amongst those different from them that tolerance is called for. For that reason, I highly recommend this for the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival for ages 8 to 18. I am concerned a bit about the video quality of this film because the image on filmfreeway seems pretty muted. I hope there is a better quality version available. For that reason, I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Juror
Neenu and Bobby are introducing their parents on the night when Diwali meets Halloween. Neenu wants the perfect Diwali, but her nephew Jai wants a spooktacular Halloween. Everything goes wrong in this multicultural comedy of errors. The dog runs away. Bobby gets into trouble. Will they ever have the perfect holiday?
