Recommended. The cinematic look of this student production is flawless. The story line deals with which is loss, a situation that kids experience sooner or later. With this kid, it's sooner. The film looks quite professional. Hats off to the director of photography who makes excellent use of light, both day and night. The audio is perfect as well. For a student film, it is definitely impressive with great production values and a charming short sci-fi story. It looks like a film you might see on the big screen. And, the story is innocent and charming enough that kids and parents alike can enjoy it. It is a bit slow in the first half and I would have liked the characters to have more defined personalities, but it's entirely suitable for a film festival audience as a student short. I recommend it for ages 6 to 18 and up and give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Keefer B, KIDS FIRST! Film Critic and Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Juror.
