This is an engaging short documentary that conveys the message that being aware of other people and supporting them in many ways can not only make other people feel good, but can make you feel good as well. It brings home the point that much of the time we are caught up in our own world and thoughts, but to notice, truly notice, our surroundings makes our lives richer and more connected. We are all connected to one another in such interesting ways and we can only realize this if our eyes are open and our hearts and minds are open. This is the point that I feel the author, who narrates a book on a bus to his school children, tries to make. One of the primary relationships in the film is between a grandmother and her grandson. The grandmother is very wise in how she looks at the world from a positive point of view and teaches her grandson to think in the same manner. This story is interweaved with the author narrating his book in a very creative way. There are many valuable lessons to be taken from this short and engaging documentary. Recommended for ages 4 to 10. Review by Ella L., KIDS FIRST! Film Critic
