Bird and Rhino are best of friends and quite animated in The Pop Ups distinctive adventurous storytelling style. Rhino, you see, has a proclivity for putting out dangerous fires - Don't think I've used that word in a review before but it's a good one, look it up. Bird is along for the ride wherever the fear of fire takes them. At least he gets to eat bugs from Rhino's back (sometimes called a Serengeti win-win). The production value from song to video is a pleasure and the lessons are subtle and true. Onward and upward Bird and Rhino! Reviewed by John Wood, KIDS FIRST! Music Judge.
This is a hit new animated video based on a song on The Pop Ups' "Great Pretenders Club," the Brooklyn musical duo's fourth full album, bringing together a collection of 11 original songs. Through danceable electro-pop beat and smart lyrics, the album looks to engage children in imaginative play as a means of exploration and learning with their environment and others.
