This movie is a really good movie and one you just want to share with everyone. I think a lot of people would like it because it is family friendly and really cute.
This story is about a boy named Bobby who has a dream of becoming the greatest magician ever. He got a dog named Ozzie when he was young because he was so depressed after his dad died and he needed Ozzie to come with him everywhere he went. One day, he went to a store to buy a magic book with $20 dollars that he found. He buys a magic book that gives him powers to do a lot of things.
The main characters in this movie are Bobby, Ozzie, his mom and two wizards. My favorite character is Ozzie because, he may be a dog but, he is actually a magic dog. He has lived for centuries and can talk. He can also do a few magic powers. He is also a really cool dog.
My favorite part in this movie is when Bobby is at a school talent show and he and Ozzie do a lot of cool magic tricks. They make Ozzie disappear and do a lot more tricks. He does some elusions and the dog helps him with a few things. One time, Ozzie goes into one box and comes out another. It is really cool and a quick hint he wasn't teleporting.
I recommend this movie for ages 5 to 12 because all of the magic tricks are cool. Reviewed by KIDS FIRST! Film Critic Anthon A., age 11.
I have to admit that I wasn't too sure about this movie in the beginning. It seemed a tad dark and sad. It does touch on some emotional issues of loss, being bullied and social anxiety. But, this quickly turns into a mystical and magical movie that is very entertaining. There is a whole theme of bad magic and good magic and, although good magic is much more powerful, something more meaningful is portrayed in the film. It shows how real magic comes from within oneself and, in this case, a young boy named Bobby who has to deal with the loss of his dad at a young age. With the help of a magical dog, Ozzie, who becomes his best friend, he learns to deal with social anxiety and learns that magic doesn't solve problems.
This films had me on the edge of my seat at times and I enjoyed the happy twist at the end. The actors portray the characters really well. I would rate this film 5 out of 5 stars. It is entertaining and is quite magical. It is much more than just a bad vs. good kind of movie.
What happens when you find out the family dog is actually six-hundred years old and was once owned by a great and powerful wizard? In this charming and magical adventure, young Bobby Spade and his faithful therapy dog, Ozzy, stumble upon an ancient wizard's mystical book of spells. To save the family home from foreclosure, Bobby and Ozzy enter the National Million Dollar Talent Show in hopes of winning the grand prize. It seems a cinch to nab the Million Dollars with their inherited new powers-- until the evil Wizard, Lord Gragheon who fought for, and lost the book of spells centuries ago -- time travels to claim it back through a spectacular dual against the young magician and his mystical talking dog.
