The kids really like some of the songs and lost interest on some. They really liked the Spanish song, the store song and the washing hands song. They also seems to like Manuel the great and danced around to all the music. Overall, they had a fun time listening to it and remembered a lot of it afterwards.
What is the adage you can't tell a book by its cover? Well in the case of 'Smart Songs for Active Children' the cover artwork for all the songs is there but, with that in mind, when you open a book and play an album - in whatever format you choose - the artist, the story, and investiture takes over. This album comes from a pure place of what communicates to children, what uplifts and involves them and ultimately what brings joy and the 'play it again phenom' we have experienced as parents. This album works on a multitude of levels. The music strides a variety of styles with lots of room for participation. Vincent is a consummate writer and performer who knows his audience. Great continuity and variety of styles. The lyrics are filled with love, fun and positive values throughout. The title gives it away. These are indeed smart songs and kids will be dancing and singing along from the first downbeat. The vocals are well placed out front of the tracks. The production values are very good with a nice mix of instruments. Check it out.
The 7th CD by early childhood music specialist and award-winning composer Vincent Nunes. The sixteen tracks are original songs, each curriculum rich and loaded with catchy melodies which make you want to sing along
