I really enjoyed this film. It's based on the true story of Francis Ouilmet, the champion of the 1913 US Open. He's pretty much a normal guy except that he has an amazing talent for golf. However, he's a caddy at a local golf club, so nobody thinks he can do anything. Through a lot of hard work and perseverance he gets himself a spot in the US Open. The beginning is very slow but at the end, my dad and I were sitting on the edge of our seats. The movie shows the ball rolling and rolling, Ahhhh! It is really strange because we were having these big reactions over something that we knew how it would turn out and that says something about the workmanship of the film. I really like the film aspects and one in particular shot really sticks in my head. The guy swings and the ball goes flying. You fly along with the ball and then you actually go through the ball and you get to see what is inside the ball, which is a little disconcerting, and then you're seeing things from the point of view of the ball. It's very strange and very cool. I'd say this is appropriate for ages 8 to 14 and I give this a four out of five stars. Review by Sam Connan, Age 13, KIDS FIRST! Film Critic
