The younger children really enjoyed the DVD and the older kids liked it but agreed it was better for younger kids. All children agreed that it showed real friendship, kindness towards others, and the importance of working together. The overall theme was that everyone could be a hero and help save the day. They liked that Paulie Police Car and Fiona Fire Engine needed help from others to solve problems and make the rescues. The 4 year-old were observed as being glued to the show, laughing out loud often and singing along. The older boys were observed as enjoying most of it but were getting a bit restless and both said they were just too old but it was great for ages 3-6, maybe 7.
Heroes of the City is an entertaining, fun DVD for young children that shows how Paulie Police Car and Fiona Fire Engine help the town vehicles (people) save the day from solving mysteries to putting out fires. It also teaches about real friendship, working together, and helping others. It shows that anyone (by helping others) can be a real true hero. It shows that anything really can be accomplished by helping one another.
