The concept is creative and I like the ending. Shyla is on a search to find her mom how has been taken away by the puppy mill breeders. It is entertaining and shows love, compassion and friendship - and of course, a happy ending. The puppy mill breeders are mean and use mild violence, like throwing shampoo at a wall, but it is mild and in context with the story. The other characters are very likeable, especially the Mice (Curly and Moe) and Webster the Owl, who are unique and their dialogue really adds to the story. I would like to see a little more sense of place as it is difficult to visualize the locale. The story draws you in and keeps you entertained.
Shyla, a playful pup, has been separated from her pure bred mother who is being held by ruthless puppy mill breeders. Dr. Yulch and Larry Smithers hatch a scheme to sell sub par dog food to a large pet store chain, but Rex, a champion beagle and Wade Gancy, his owner and CEO of the pet store, stand in their way. A loving family, unsuspecting of her perilous past, adopt her from a shelter. They misinterpret her attempts to rescue her mother as poor behavior, but all is forgiven when Shyla solves the mystery of the missing show dog and rescues her mother and a police officer from the scheming culprits.
