SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT
Looking for a great summer movie? Well a Marvel comics has come through once gain. Marvel Entertainment and Columbia Pictures took a risky chance on rebooting the Spiderman franchise, and their risk paid off. I believe this is the best Spiderman film that has been ever filmed, and it just may be Marvel's biggest hit of the year. This film stars relative unknown Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker (aka Spiderman), Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Connors (aka The Lizard). There is also a great supporting cast, including Martin Sheen and Sally Fields as Uncle Ben and Aunt May, and Dennis Leary as Captain Stacy, among others. As with previous Spiderman films, the basis of this film is about a teenage boy looking for redemption over his uncle's death but he ends up as a hero for the entire city. My favorite scene is in the climax of the film, when Spiderman is trying to make it to Oscorp to stop The Lizard, save Gwen and the city in the process. He ends up getting shot and has difficulty climbing the buildings and swinging on his webs. That's when a construction worker leads his co-workers to move all the cranes in the area to turn in the same direction in order to help Spiderman get to Oscorp in time. My favorite character is Peter (Spiderman) because he is so awesome playing an average high school student, who also happens to be a super hero. I love how the spider bite doesn't give him all his powers, but that he uses his extraordinary intelligence to aid his new super abilities. The CGI and stunt work are brilliant and fantastic. It is amazing how they have these floating computer screens that the scientists work on and I also think it's cool how lifelike they made Dr. Conner look like as he transforms into a giant lizard. The stunt work is very well coordinated and compliments the CGI so well, all of the tricks, stunts and acrobatics that made it look as if Spiderman really was swinging through the skyline of New York City. I rate this film 5 out of 5 stars, because it is a great film and I thought it was a phenomenal movie. I think that this film is for ages 5 to adult and the whole family will love it. I can't wait to see it again. I hope you love this movie as much as I did! Look for this fantastic film playing now in theaters near you.
