This is one of the best adventure movies I have ever seen. There are so many cool parts in this movie and seeing it in 3D is really awesome. It is also really neat to see how the boy and his step-dad work together and form a better relationship throughout the movie. This movie is all about a boy named Sean Anderson who first goes and steals a message from a satellite building because he thinks his grandfather is trying to send him a message. He works with his step dad Hank to decipher the code and they learn the location of the mysterious island. They decide to go and find the island and get the help of a helicopter pilot and his daughter. They fly into the heart of a hurricane and crash land onto the mysterious island! Some of the main characters in the movie are Sean Anderson, Hank, Sean's grandfather, Alexander, Gabato, and Kailani. My favorite character is Alexander Anderson because he is a really funny character and he loves adventure. He is really old but still knows what he needs to do to get around the island. Sean's grandfather helps everyone to find a way off the island and get back home. My favorite part in the movie is when Hank sings a song to Sean after he hurt his ankle. He is a really good singer and he made the song pretty funny. He also sang that Sean's grandfather is as old as Yoda, which I thought was hilarious! Another really good part in the movie is when they are trying to escape the island in a submarine and everything is falling around them. Hank puts a missile in and Sean fires to explode some big rocks. That was pretty cool. I would recommend this movie for ages 7 and up because the movie has a lot of adventure and at some points is a little scary. There were a lot of parts that I really wanted to watch but also didn't want to watch because I was so nervous about what would happen. It is a really cool movie. Go out and see this movie in theaters on February 10th. Review by Anthony Aranda, age 9, KIDS FIRST! Film Critic

The new 3D family adventure film begins when 17-year-old Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist. Unable to stop him from tracking the signal to its source, Sean's new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), joins the quest that will take them first to the South Pacific, and then to a place few people have ever seen. Or lived to tell about. It's a place of stunning beauty, strange and threatening life forms, volcanoes, mountains of gold and more than one astonishing secret. Together with Gabato (Luis Guzman), the only helicopter pilot wiling to risk the trip, and Gabato's beautiful, strong-willed daughter Kailani (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone human inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island underwater and bury its treasures forever. Michael Caine stars as Sean's grandfather.
