Circus is the ultimate fantasy. This delightful documentary follows a group of kids spending their summer rehearsing to perform in the local circus. It shows their challenges as they struggle to prepare for to the rewarding opening. While the whole circus thing is fun, there is so much more to this story. The interviews and b-roll footage of the kids overcoming their challenges offer great insight to any child viewer. The documentary offers hope to everyone as we watch the kids be given an opportunity to perform, no matter what their background is. We see them on the trapeze, suspended from ropes high above the floor, and learning how to deal with the pain of overcoming physical challenges. Well produced, there is a variety of shots and ideas. And, the length is just right - not so long that we lose interest. Show Day, the grand finale, is very rewarding. We are able to see how the results of all their hard work pay off. The clowns, the Ring Master, the fliers, the music - Wow! What a show these kids put on. Very inspiring.
Struggling against logistical nightmares, talent and adolescent insecurities, the 12 teenagers in the Amazing Grace Circus Troupe test the saying 'run away to the circus' and discover an irresistibly rich history, culture... and their own voice.
