Seth is ready to throw away his toys and isn't amused by his mom's silly antics. The mother is not ready to say goodbye to her son's childhood. She is still grieving the loss of her husband and doesn't want to give up the strong mother-child bond she and her son have together through play. Good acting, a meaningful story, holds your attention from the start. The beginning is somewhat confusing as a young girl plays the role of mom as she is trying to get her son to play with her. The underlying message of this film is very adult. Not only is the mom dealing with issues about her son growing up, but she is also dealing with the loss of her husband. The ending has a very satisfying resolution.
Ten-year-old Seth wants to give up his toys, but his work-numbed mother Lily needs the spark of their play time more than he does. Her insistence that he keep the toys leads to some unexpected places.
