This film takes me back to my own youth. I remember the Cuban missile crisis and how my parents discussed the handling of it by the White House. The idea that these kids could do something about it, with their model rockets, is a far stretch from reality, but makes for a good story. The talent is quite believable as are the clothing and the attitude - reflecting the 60s.
South Florida. 1962. While the Cuban Missile Crisis threatens to incinerate America, divorce looms over the Shaw family. Thirteen-year-old Miles Shaw must protect his little brother, Danny, from the fallout, and he has it all figured it. The mission? To blow up the Soviet Missiles. The weapon? Model Rockets. There are always casualties in war, even the cold ones.
