This film is fast paced and moves from scene to scene very fluidly. The animation style is very simple, 3D but very beautiful and polished. The action sequences are outstanding though they may be frightening to kids under age 5. It offers us a lovely new Christmas tale which teaches the importance of putting one's self aside for the sake of others. Gobie's character is curious, yet humble and he takes great responsibility for his mistakes. The ending is particularly appealing and clever. It invokes true emotion when Gobie's quest seems to fail. From the mushroom forest to the doughnut kingdom, the animated environment of the film is entertaining. The only thing we didn't enjoy were the opening credits. They are very storybook-like and distracting. The story improves as it develops. Everything is very original and colorful which make the visual impact of the film very appealing aesthetically.
When Gobie's pet dragon, Be Be, is seriously hurt in a skiing accident, Gobie and his other pet dragon, Kuma, set off to Santaland to ask Santa to grant him a wish - that Be Be will get better.
