Lovely snapshot of Perin's life in Israel, dealing with real issues in a positive manner. This short is both educational and personal in its scope. A documentary about real people, twin girls, from a Lebanese family living in contemporary Israel. The twins, Perin and Polin, are charming and real. They portray hope in spite of their difficult circumstances. Kids will relate to these young women. The situation between Israel and Lebanon isn't something that kids in the U.S. are very aware of and this story brings you face to face with how it affects people. Kids can relate to the girls' feeling of not belonging and a sense of loneliness as well as the family love we see expressed. We are reminded of the importance of peace. It is subtitled but they are well done and easy to read. There is a bit of a distraction when some of the scenes are time stamped, yet it doesn't interfere with the subtitles.
Perin's family escaped to Israel from the Hezbollah in Lebanon. Her father, once a proud fighter, is now employed to clear garbage. Perin, now 16, strives to succeed in her studies, so in the future she may be able to extricate her parents from their dismal situation.
