This student film reminds me of the book, "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" by Judith Viorst. Kids will think it's silly to watch yucky things happen to the main character. What is fascinating about this is that it is directed and written by a very savvy 10-year-old who recently completed the directors program at NY Film Academy. If it was longer than 3 minutes, it would not be as appealing. The acting is very good, as are the camerawork and the background music. Be sure to catch the interviews with the director and the composer, they are worth the effort. I love this young man.
Life can be great, but there are 5 or so days in your life where you think you would rather die and "It Happens," is one of them. A fun and sad comedy about a man who has a horrible day.
You too can become a film critic!
