The writers and producers obviously put a lot of thought into how to tell this story. It's a riveting production. The narrator becomes a singer and her beautiful voice and songs are captivating. The cutaways to the classroom coloring images from the story, live action shots depicting historical events all add to its enrichment. Since it's the story of a young girl, it will most likely help children relate to the main character and understand the hardships she faced. Historically, this is very accurate. It shows the hardships that these enslaved people had to endure. But, it is age appropriate in regards to not showing graphic depictions of the whippings and other violent actions they experienced. The audio quality is excellent as are the images. Great video for Black History week.
