There is some violence that can be justified. The bad guy has the girl in a cage and throws a boot at the weasel. The weasel attacks his arm. It's all part of the story where the evil is overcome. This is a very creative story that teaches children a good lesson in a fun manner. It has a solid beginning, middle and ending. It's great at tying tidbits of information together like the wishes for dragons and flying which end up becoming true. You immediate relate to the characters and get a sense of their friendship and relationship. The conflict is produced quickly but naturally. It unfolds well as the characters try to solve the mysteries, becoming suspects themselves. It makes you wonder how they are going to prove their innocence and you are upset when they are false accused. The conclusion is very satisfying, right down to the fact that the weasel is treated with kindness and rewards that kindness by giving the children the key. The Wizard gets his comeuppance as the eagles carry him off and a good moral is pointed out - that one must take car of one's own troubles.
When Rupert Bear and Podgy Pig wished for a summer adventure, they never expected to find trouble in Nutwood. Will the boys get blamed for the mysterious robberies, or will the revolutionary Trouble Repellent help them catch the real culprit?
