Well produced, great topic. Kids can readily identify with the situation of communicating with people online and, though most are attuned to the concerns about safety in their online "friendships" this film points out how easy it is for an online "friend" to misrepresent who they really are. The girls' detective skills add another dimension to this film and make it fun and interesting. Well produced with good camera work, clear audio, good background music and good continuity. The script is well developed and engaging.
Michael, a concerned 8th grader, approaches the Club with a difficult problem. His friend Ally has been talking to a guy online for over two months - a guy she sees as perfect - but Michael can see that he is 20! Adina's Deck takes the case to track down Ally's mysterious boyfriend and uncover his true identity. After using technology and their detective sleuth skills, the club learns that young online relationships aren't as romantic as they might seem. Includes an interview with Larry Magid, Internet Safety Expert.
