Very enjoyable. Kids kept interested, sang along and danced to the music. They liked all the songs and the images of the animals. "We all liked the instruments they played. The didgeridoo was really neat sounding." "We liked the music and the animals." One boy said, "I think my friends would like the cool instruments they play and that we saw kids playing them!" Overall, "great" was their response.
Offers an adventure into the world of music with a very engaging duo, trio band and Kim the Guide, along with live action kids, audiences of kids and adults, and animals from the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Everyone contribute to the original songs and introduction of all kinds of musical instruments from around the world. Lots of movement and dancing. The audience is invited to "swing and sing" through the trees to Lisa and Linda's original tunes. Good lessons about musical instruments, some common like the drum, piano and guitar and some unusual ones like the didgeridoo, ocarina, and mrbira (thumb piano) and tunes about lions, orangutans , lions and more. Nicely done with live action, film animation and claymation of animals.
This safari musical will have kids swinging and singing through the trees to the award-winning tunes about iguanas, lions, orangutans and more! Hear amazing instruments like marimbas and didgeridoos on this adventure into the world of music. Special DVD features include a Singin' Safari Drum Circle, "Guess the Instruments" where all 22 instruments from the DVD are heard and named, "Rangy" outtakes, and a special commentary for parents by Lisa and Linda.
