Kids immediately started moving to the beat of the first song and were quite interested in the music for the first four songs. After that, it was difficult to hold their interest as they didn't understand what the songs were about. Even when coached by an adult to listen to the Spanish words of familiar tunes, they lost interest.
This is a superb CD of children's songs - all in Spanish. The packaging is somewhat misleading because it touts the idea that it is "teaching" Spanish. This isn't really the case since there is no element here to attempts a language learning lesson. On the other hand, the music is pleasant and many of the tunes are ones that kids are familiar with such as Head and Shoulders; Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and The Alphabet Song. For a Spanish speaking family, this is perfect but, if you're trying to learn Spanish, don't expect this to do that.
Songs that introduce kids to the Spanish words for numbers, letters, colors, body parts, directions and more. Authentic, upbeat, Latin rhythms include salsa, merengue, rumba, ranchera, corrida and rock n roll.
