Enjoyed it. "I liked the fact that the girl bought her father's book for her teacher without knowing. Kids can see what poverty looks like in this film. "I enjoyed the ending its show the girl's connection with the book. For me, the beginning was very slow." "One of the benefits of this movie is that it shows good people sacrificing something important to them for the benefit of others."
Good storyline about fate and how items rotate in the world. Shows life in Baghdad during the UN sanctions. Although these students are impoverished, their moral values are strong and admirable. Good production quality, excellent visuals and audio. We viewed a rough cut but were impressed by the quality of the work.
This is the story of a girl in Baghdad during the embargo days whose sacrifice touches the world around her. It is a serious film about two beautiful children growing up during the embargo days in Iraq, when they had no medicine whatsoever, and everything else had to be sold. It's about a gift that goes around full circle ... a gift going from being material to being something of value similar to "The Gift of the Magi." It is a classic story, based on Newton writer Elsa Marston's book, "Figs and Fate."
